Football Season

I was dreading this sport.  Really dreading it!  But I turned out loving it.  It was intense and full of action.  I was really quite sad to see it end.
Carter's little team really had a awesome year.  It was fun to see them learn and grow as a team.  We're still teaching Carter that it's not all about the person making the touchdowns but about the team that's helping "that guy" make those points.

Their league had 3 teams that had tied at the end of the season and had to have a late night quick play off.  Each team got a chance at the 5 yard line to make a touchdown.  Carter's team ruled out of the 3 teams and made it to the spot of going into play offs.  They we're pretty excited, so were the parents.  Especially the dads!

Look at this gorgeous weather.  Doesn't it scream FOOTBALL?!

Another victorious game that sent them into the actual play off game for the tittle of 1st or 2nd!  They were pretty pumped!

The championship game day came and we woke up to this!  Our first storm and snowfall of the season.  And it was a big one!

We all bundled up and headed out to South Jordan.  First we had to make a stop or two to find Dad the right winter apparel.
The team and couches were ready for this weather.  They had lots of hot chocolate, hot potatoes (to keep their hands warm), and a nice warm tent with generators pumping out the heat!  (it's big time folks)

It was a really rough game.  Poor boys really couldn't get anywhere in all that snow.  They were very frustrated.

They ended up losing by one touchdown.  But they still managed to have good attitudes and a fun time.

His team loved getting pumped up by having some music played before and during half time.  At this particular game the parent running the music chose Gangam Style.  What kid doesn't know that dance?  There sure was some dancing going on out on the field that day.  Let's not confuse who's kid was the show stopper though.  While most of the kids stopped dancing after about 20 seconds, not our son.  He finished that gangam style with grace!  It was perfect!  No need for dance lessons for this kid.

I've realized something about Carter.  He needs to be involved in a sport all the time.  He needs to burn his energy and is such a easier person to be around when he's burned it off!

It makes me sad to see Carter grow up.  I really need to bottle up all these memories so they can last forever!  BOYS RULE!

What a great blog! It was fun to watch Carter play and to see his father's face shine with pride. He would talk to me about every detail of Carter's football season. Yes, he is all boy and has energy to burn. I laughed when reading about his dancing, no shyness there. Those are wonderful pictures Kendi. Thanks for sharing a very special time in your lives.

Love,
Dad

Wow - - I knew you had snow for the last big game, but that is a BIG storm!
What a great sport football is. I'm glad Carter enjoyed it so much, and I think he really learned about the role/importance of all the positions on the team. He was quite the young star, I heard. Wish I could have seen him more than I did - - -but maybe next season!

Thanks for the great photos. Stay warm!
Love you all.
