Cousins are the Best!

My kids love their cousins. It's so fun to watch as their eyes light up when we talk about the thought of seeing close by cousins or distant cousins.

Over Christmas break we were able to see our cousins from Boise. Ever since that time we spent with our Idaho cousins we have heard much talk of them. In fact Bess's dolls are now proudly named, Emma, Meggy, and Stephanie (whom she thinks is Alyssa). It makes me sad and hope one day to make the distant gap closer to our cousins all over the globe!

It also makes me feel gratitude for the cousins that we have living close by. Bess is so lucky to have a girl cousin, just 3 months younger than her, whom is truly her best friend. I hope they continue to enjoy each other as they grow older and that they know just how lucky they are to have each other.

Having cousins is a real boost to family cohesiveness. When Susan's family lived closer and we went to family reunions every two years the cousins were really close and have followed each other's lives into adulthood. We miss the closeness we once had, especially with my family. We hope family members won't drop the practice of maintaining close contact. Checking each other's blogs, among other ways, is a good way to do that. We look forward to seeing several of you this summer when we have the first Moore family reunion.

Love, Dad

Yeah, we hope to someday be close enough to allow our kids to be close to their cousins. Thats' definately something to be greatful for, you never know if that will be something that is possible down the road, we sure hope it is.

Cute pictures! Having cousins close by is a luxury when work carries family many different places. It's neat to see that Carter and Bess are so excited to see their cousins, those that are close and those that they don't get to see so often.

Cousins are great!
My parents are both only children - a total travesty in my opinion - ha ha.
Anyway I have NO cousins and feel like I really missed out - so I have made sure that my kids spend lots of time with their cousins and over the years we have had to travel to make that happen quite a bit - but it has been so worth it!
In the end family is the most important!
Love the cute cousin pictures!!

Cute pictures. I know they will grow up having the best memories of each other. That is so great that they have each other. I must say that I am jelous! I have the best memories with you guys. It is something that I treasure! I wish we still lived close enough to hang out. But when I do see you, it feels like we can pick up right where we left off! Cousins are the best! :)

I love the one with the cousins in the sauna, taking a steam! We'll bring a whole boatload of cousins (to name dolls after) out this summer!
