A Week in Salt Lake City

We had planned to take a long weekend trip down to Utah to celebrate our cousin Reese's baptism and our cousin Roe's 1st birthday.  However, with the passing of my friend I really wanted to attend her funeral.  It was the beginning of the week so that put us in Utah for almost a whole week.
We got over our sicknesses and headed down.

We did a lot of entertaining ourselves as many of our friends and family were either sick or busy with their Christmas break plans.  It was kind of a bummer but we tried to make the most of our time.

City Creek is always good entertainment!

Next stop Temple Square.  We sure didn't enjoy this place enough when we lived there.  We all had fun exploring and talking lots about the temple, heavenly father, and our forever family!

We spent very little time with our cousins because guess what? They were sick!  Poor Reese had to cancel her baptism.  They had all the food bought, family in town, but a very sick little girl.  She should be able to enjoy her day, right?!

Of course we had to hit up all our favorite dining out spots.  Maggie loves those chocolate covered strawberries at Zupas!

Another thing we did was eat at Red Lobster in memory of Grandma Mary.  It was her very favorite place to come when she came to Salt Lake to visit.  She always took us all out!  In fact just a year ago at this same time we were spending our Christmas Eve dinner out with her at Red Lobster.
We miss her lots!

We even made a stop by our old neighborhood.  We got a good visit in with "our" cat Natty!  I think he misses us!

We love this little guy and we felt so privileged to spend his 1st birthday with him!

It was a very long week and we were happy to get home to our beds but we wouldn't have missed some of those very important events for anything!
