About a week before Labor Day weekend Glen and I decided it would be fun to get away and explore more of Idaho for the weekend. We looked around for deals and found the best deal at Tamarack Resort up close to McCall.
It was so quiet up there. We really felt like we may be the only ones staying at the resort. It's a new(er) resort that someone built not too long ago and then lost it all. So everything was new and really pretty!
That evening we headed into McCall after swimming and ate. The town was pretty full with lots of people with the same idea as us.
Next morning we woke up and checked out of the resort. We went and waited for about a hour to eat at the Pancake House!!! So yummy and so worth the wait! We were starting to worry a bit about our activity of renting a boat as it was quite rainy! Things cleared up a little though and gave us hope! So we headed down to the beach to wait for our friends to meet us!
We rented a big 12 passenger Pontoon boat along with a tube to pull the kids!
The skis were iffy at times!
Carter and his friend Josh were FREAKING out about fishing, so we had to stop at some rocks to let them give it a try. We had a couple of brave kids that got out and decided to jump from the rocks!

I think everyone got a turn at driving. That Pontoon boat couldn't go too fast!
Glen and Maggie had a turn on the tube. Glen decided to be silly and fall off.....it kinda freaked Maggie and her mother out that she was out there all by herself. She eventually fell off and then we both REALLY FREAKED OUT!!!! Good thing for life jackets!
Really, Carter could not have found a friend more like him! These boys will spend hours and hours outside in the summer exploring but mostly dreaming of fishing!

It was a perfect weekend! and great way to end our official summer. Hopefully it's a new tradition that we have made with the Howells and we didn't scare them off from going again with us!

I love McCall - - -and have memories of Glen and his brothers doing the rock jumping just like that years ago!! Looks so fun. Thanks for sharing the great photos. The one of Carter and his buddy concentrating on their fishing gear brings a smile. Such concentration!!

I LOVE the Pancake house...one of my favorite places...although they've made it bigger, I remember when it was just a little log trailer!

My Aunt used to have a cabin in McCall. I loved going there when I was young. So fun!
That was a really fun trip. We'll have to go back and do it again when the weather is better.
