The latest and greatest

Have I mentioned that Martin Stewart lives I my house? Martha's cousin! He's the best. We have a pear tree that Glen takes very good care of every year and the past two years he's decided to give a hand at canning the pears. He and Carter spent a whole afternoon (way too long if you ask me) canning 16 jars of pears. They chose to do it the "manly" way, on the good ol' grill!

My brilliant son brought home his 100%+1 bonus point spelling test. We were very proud of him. He's rockin' it on his piano lessons too.

I am so ready for more fall like weather. Fall is my favorite! I love all the decorations and Halloween also happens to be a favorite. T.V. also excites me this time of year. I am ready for some good T.V.!
I started a diet. I realize I am a social eater. I need to work on that!

Glen took Bess on a "date" last week. She was so silly about it. She wasn't too sure about "dating" her dad. She kept telling him not to call it a date. And all on her own, she assured him that she would not be giving him a kiss. (she watches too much Wizards of Waverly Place, Hannah Montana, Zac and Cody.......garbage).
They went to the library and for some ice cream. In the end I know she felt very special.

In other news, school has really been wiping her out! Beaver teeth and all! Silly girl.

I got a good chuckle out of that picture. Good thing she doesn't sleep like that all the time. I should win a house-husband award or something. I mean, come on! How many dudes do you know that can produce? :)

I think it's awesome, Glen! You canned pears last year, too, didn't you? I'll trade you some chokecherry syrup or huckleberry jelly for a quart of pears, okay?

Carter, way to go on the spelling test. I'm very proud of you, because it's a hard thing to know how to spell the words AND also write them correctly. Yay for Carter and Glen - - -and sweet dreams to Bess.

Love you.

Good job Carter! I love when they do well in school. I bet 4 days a week is wiping that cute girl out. It would wipe me out for sure!

Way to go Glen on the pears. That's awesome!

That was a newsy blog that was much appreciated. More family stuff that keeps you on your toes. The pears project was pretty ambitious. We're very proud of Carter's achievement at school. I chuckle when thinking about Bess not kissing her Dad on their date. Great family, great blog.

Love, Mike/Dad

Canning pears is so impressive! I love how Carter adores his daddy and will stay with a project like that! Congrats on the spelling test, Carter! Bess looks pretty funny in that picture. I imagine preschool can be exhausting!

Susan
