The other day as I returned from my morning run, I looked through the kitchen window to see Bess and Glen enjoying some quality time together over cereal. Normally I would be a little annoyed to see Bess awake so early and wonder why Glen had to be so loud and wake her but for some reason this particular morning, watching through the window, it made me smile.
By the time I got in the house Glen was waiting for me so he could leave for work, while Bess was still sitting at the table reading the back of the cereal box enjoying her breakfast.
We both watched as Glen pulled out of the driveway to work. Bess commented, "he's sure a good boy."
I giggled and we both laughed for a minute.
Shortly after Carter joined us in the kitchen. He gave me a hug and asked if it was Saturday.
In that moment, as I stood there, I thought of my life as grand. I really have it so great. How lucky am I to be able to send my husband off to work each day KNOWING he'll return at the same time every evening. I think of those serving our country and all the unsurity that comes with their homecomings.
I have a home, while at times I get frustrated that I can't redecorate or knock down every single wall, I do have a home and it's MY home. OUR home!

Kendi what a lovely post! I love the picture montage at the top - so cute!
Your thoughts are so right on - it doesn't matter what material things we have but the fact that you could look at your children, enjoy their words and interaction with their dad, that you could realize the intangible things that make life so wonderful. Those are the moments that are priceless!!
:D
I can never see the pictures you post on Photobucket. My work must block it.
Who knew that eating cereal could provide such inspiration? It's good to find happiness in the simple things like eating Cinnamon Life or having good company.
Glen
Thanks for sharing, sometimes those little moments help us remember how lucky we are to have what we do. I love those moments, they almost always happen for me on Saturday mornings.
Those were some very sweet moments. Our families are our greatest blessings!
love you,
Susan
Love the pictures, Kendi! Carter and Bess look like they're having such fun with the dandelions. Very creative photos and very cute kids!
What a fun thing for Bess to say about her dad. He IS a good boy - - at least most of the time!:) The "sweet and tender" times buoy us up and help us through those times that are less than perfection, don't they!
Love,
Mom/Gram
Yes, Glen is a good boy. When we look at all the blessings from our family it can make us feel very grateful. Gratitude is the stuff that keeps me going. Those are very original cute pictures.
Love, Mike
