and they partied

Remember over a month ago that our oldest child turned 6? Well it's true and I can hardly believe I am a mother to a 6 year old. He was suppose to stay 6 months forever, not turn 6 years!!!!
The day of his actual birth day was a good day for him. He was showered with tons of family gifts and had yummy birthday pancakes for breakfast.
We were throwing a big birthday party for my grandpa's 90th birthday party that night so we made sure Carter still felt special that whole day.

The day before his birthday he had his big Valentine's Day party at school. I planned the party so I was lucky enough to be there while everyone sang to him and told him "everything under the sun" that they liked about it. It really was quite a crack up to watch. The kids were all sitting on the floor raising their hands, Carter would call on each kid and they would say something they liked about him. I never quite knew Carter was a good at surfing and skateboarding??

We found out at his 6 year check up that he's perfect and is the smartest 6 year old to ever live (but we already knew that)!

Carter was lucky enough to share his birthday party (2 weeks after his birthday) with his buddy Joshua. We rented Bouncin Off the Walls and invited 25 kids to come help us celebrate. I think a great time was had by all!

That was a fun little party and I'm amazed that nobody got hurt. I like how Carter's teacher spotlights the kids of their birthdays and asks for things the kids like about one another.

I just read the surfing and skateboarding comment to Erin and we were both cracking up. I can totally picture that.

That is such a good idea with the pancake birhtday. He has the cutest facial expression while the kids are telling him what they like about him. so cute

Kendi,

I feel the same way about Carter...he looks so old. I don't notice the changes in my own kids, but am shocked to see Carter looking so grown up. We are going to be in Salt Lake and Logan from June 21-July 7, and I really want to see you and the family. Hopefully you'll be around.
