Crazy Weekend

We had a very busy weekend. It seems like it went by way too fast. Friday night we went to Costco and picked up the cake for the baby shower and then went looking for cameras. We decided that I need to decide what I am actually going to do with the camera before we purchase one so I didn't purchase one.....yet!
Saturday morning we all slept in until 8 and then Carter and I went for a jog before my hair appointment at 10. I was at my appt. until 12:30 and came home to a present from Carter and a yummy cake that he and Glen made. It was a great surprise!





As soon as I walked in the door though Glen and Carter had their fishing gear and were out the door. I then had the baby shower at 1:30 and didn't get home till almost 4. Glen and Carter got home shortly after me. They had a blast and caught 3 fish. Carter got very sunburned though!
That night Glen and I went to dinner at an Italian restaurant not far from our house called Luganos. It was very nice but we felt a little out of our element. Everyone was drinking wine and dressed very nice. Oh well....we had good food. My neighbor down the street offered to take my kids. It was so nice of her. Bess was a mess when I got there to pick them up though. I think she cried probably 3/4 of the time. Poor Laurie!
Yesterday was a beautiful day. We left for a short walk around 5 and didn't get home until almost 7. We didn't walk too far either. It's just that every corner we turned we ran into our friends and neighbors and ended up visiting for way too long.
Carter's little friend Nicole came over this morning. Her dad called and asked if she could come over. His parents are out of town and take care of his kids while his wife is sick. He took the week off to be with them but Nicole wanted a friend. Carter and her always fight for the first hour and then after that they are great but by that time it's about time for her to go. I tried to get on my treadmill while they were playing computer games and Bess was sleeping but they were arguing way too much to even accomplish anything.
I just purchased tickets to lunch with Shamu. Carter is very excited about going to the beach and seeing Shamu. I think he is going to be sorely disappointed when we do go to the beach on Friday and he doesn't see the whale. Last night I had to show him on the calendar how many days were left until we go. It still didn't really help because then he and I had to get in the car to go run and errand and he asked me how much longer the ride in the car was going to be before we saw Shamu.
