Seattle Spring Break March 2014

We are pretty lucky to have the greatest Uncle and brother living in Seattle so we can go visit.  We love Seattle!
We made plans to visit him over the kids spring break in March.  After my mom and little sister heard of our plans they decided to join the party.  It was a awesome time!

We started out the 8 hour driving trek by stopping over night at Grandma Berger's in Richland.  It was a perfect pit stop and we were very spoiled.  We got up early the next morning to get to Seattle to meet up with everyone.

We all stayed in a really fun hotel that was right next to a small little theme park for the kids.  They loved it.  They did put put golf and road the race cars.  The pool at the hotel was pretty fun too.

First stop was the aquarium.  Glen, Ryan, Carter, and Maggie were the only ones that went.  They said it was so great!  The rest of us hung out at the hotel and swam and went to the mall that was really close by.

The next morning we got up and went downtown to take in all the sight seeing.  As a side note, we got so lucky with the weather that weekend.  It was perfect!  With Seattle you just never quite know if you will just be wet the whole time.  We picked the BEST weekend to be there!

Glen found a little clam chowder and bread bowl.  He and Carter were pretty excited about that!

The famous pig!  I think Roe thought he was riding a horse!

While the others went on a boat tour, Maggie, Megan, Kurtis, Roe, and I stayed behind to ride the carousel.  I think Maggie thought that was a great idea.

I love touring downtown Seattle.  There is so much to see and do.  It never really gets old.  The traffic on the other hand, that's for the birds!

Having fun at the pool!

Sleepy head girls in the elevator going down for breakfast.

Megan, Kurtis, and Roe and had to leave a day before us so that left us time to do some things that Roe would maybe not have been interested in.

We went to the Space Needle and the Pacific Science Center.
Grandma was along with us for the day because her flight didn't leave till later that evening.
We all went up in the space needle.

The view from the needle.

Such an awesome city!

After the Space Needle we headed to the science center which was right next to the needle.  Maggie had a huge melt down and Glen decided she would be happier waiting outside with him.  They had a nice little nap on the lawn.  The weather was so perfect!

The kids very favorite thing there was the butterfly gardens.  There were so many and they were all so different looking and pretty.

This guy landed on Carter and would NOT get off.  He was on there for at least 20 mins.  He was still on him when it was time to go so the lady working there had to work her magic to get him off.  (it may have been a her?)

The museum was really cool.  We could have spent more time there but Maggie and Glen woke up from their slumbers and we thought we better go.

The next day we got up and went to Ryan's apartment.  The kids were dying to see where he lived!

He took us out on his balcony to see the view that he has from up there.  It was awesome!

We then had lunch and said our goodbyes!  I may have shed a few tears.....I love my little brother.  He's so great with my kids and they adore him too.  We sure wish he lived closer, soon, maybe soon!

Thanks for the best spring break Seattle and Ryan!

Hooray for Uncle Ryan! I think it was the tale of two trips - the one the boys took and the one the girls took. The boys trip was so much better! Boat, aquarium, pier, market, space needle.
