One morning Glen woke up and started opening the shades like he does every morning. He looked out to see the Magpies had killed our rabbit. It was not good. We probably only missed it by 10 mins. we think.
We have not been happy with those birds for quite some time before this. The are loud, junky, pick on the cats in the neighborhood, and chase off all the other great birds. This just made Glen decide it was time for some revenge. Out came the pellet gun! He spent one whole evening showing them that they won't mess with our yard again.
We could leave our rabbit in the backyard hopping around all the time with the neighborhood cats and they never bothered her. These birds actually found the door was not totally latched and cornered her out of her cage and killed her. AHHHH!!!! still makes me angry.
Maggie loved Dolly. Everyday Glen came home from work it was their ritual to go give the bunny water. She never let Glen forget. She know has appropriately named each one of her babies "Dolly."
Poor Dolly!
The cage Glen made for her in Sept. of 2007. That is actually a pretty long life span for rabbits of her size.
Glen was able to sell this very quickly for $60. Maybe he should go into business?
Good thing for this blog, I was able to look back and see when we did buy her from the fair. Here is the picture of the very first day we brought her home. Look how little Carter looks.
Just a couple days later I got very sad news that my "spider guy" had passed away. This guy was very special to me. For 8 months out of 7 years this man has come to my home to help get rid of our spiders. Not only did he make me happy by doing such a job he also became one of my dearest friends.
He was a very special person and I am so lucky to have known him. He called my kids his grand kids. He couldn't stop working because he said his clients were his family. On my last visit with him he told me my sister and I (who has also had him come to her house) were like his daughters.
I'll definitely miss this sweet smile at my doorstep but I know without a doubt this man is going straight to heaven. Isn't he the cutest?

Well, you successfully made me cry - - -not once, but twice. I'm really so sorry about your dear bunny. I was seriously upset when I heard about what happened. The pictures of the kids enjoying her are pricelss.
And I can see why you love your "spider man," just from his picture. His face shows me what it means to have the Savior's countenance on our face. What an awesome man he appears to be. I'm so sorry, Kendi.
I love you all very much.

That is so sad about your bunny! I'm so sorry! I hate those magpies too. I hope Glen scared them clean out of the neighborhood!!
Oh no! That is so sad about your sweet bunny. Stupid birds! I am glad they got binged a little bit. So sad. Your bug guy reminds me of my window guy. He does have the cutesy face ever. I Have a soft spot for sweet old men. I think they are so cute!
I hope your June has no sadness :)
Rest in peace Dolly. She's probably now happily hopping up in heaven now making thousands of baby Dollys and playing in the raspberry bushes.
Glen
