The Perks

Parenthood can be crazy, emotional, and down right unbearable at times (at least for this parent). But there are some great perks too. One of the perks that I enjoy is getting a good laugh from my children. They've always done a good job of keeping a smile on my face, especially when I need it the most.

Carter has a book/journal that is called "This is Me." It's a great little journal for a kid his age. It asks a variety of fun questions that I think he'll enjoy looking back on one day.
We take the book to church in our church bag each Sunday and it helps to keep Carter entertained from time to time.
A couple of Sunday's ago I was reading through it and got the biggest chuckle over his entry entitled "My Nightmares"

Glen helped him write this entry: January 2009
Sometimes I have bad dreams about:

I had a dream that me and my cousin Parker were downstairs and I told my mom that I was tired. A tongue was on my mom's forehead. It looked like her forehead was sticking out it's tongue at me and teasing me.

picture on the following page looked like this:

Thanks little buddy for brightening my 3 hour Sunday of church! You're the best!

Don't blame you for being entertained! That's a weird and funny image. I love that he's keeping track of these things in a little book. The boys and Melecia had similar books when they were young, and the words in them are so fun, and might easily have been forgotten without those books.

Way to go Carter. We love you all lots.

I remember those books, that makes me want to write down all my kids dreams because they can get pretty creative. What a funny kid.

That is so cute! I love when kids draw something that depicts what they are thinking.. what a cute kid. Very creative. That would have brightened my day too. Thanks for sharing :)

AHH! That is the best six year old thing! I need to do that with my kids. Sorry I didn't catch you in Utah. We drove by one night and your lights were out. I should have at least called - forgive me! We miss you tons! Derek really wanted to play with Carter even though he doesn't remember him. He likes anyone his age or older!
