Bess has recently picked up on saying, "oh my gosh." Something she's probably heard come from my mouth on a regular basis. However, coming from a 4 year old, it just doesn't sound very good. I've been working on not staying it myself and also reminding her that it's just not very good to say.
One day after reminding her not to say it the following conversation took place.
Me: Okay.
Bess: Sometimes I say bad words in my head at you and daddy. When you make me mad I say the bad words in my head.

We all do it, Bess. Way to own up to it. I'm working on (as C.J. reminded me) not letting those thoughts escape out my mouth as he is usually the recipient of most of my verbal lashings.
That is so funny. Lizzie says the same thing all the time (except she always tells me what those mean things are EXACTLY) It's great how even at such a young age their little consciences nudge them to be honest and tell their parents everything.
That's awesome. Your kids have some talent at saying exactly what is on their minds.
That is a crack up! I'm so impressed that she only says it in her head! We all need to take a lesson from Bess!!
That's funny. I wish I could have been there for that one.

I know my kids (and husband) must be thinking some doozies sometimes. Bess - you are wise beyond your years.

That is hilarious! Thanks for sharing!
Kendi that is stinkin' funny!!
The great thing is that kids are so honest because really haven't we all said the bad words in our head a time or two! :D
She is so funny. I'm certainly glad that most of us have filters on our thoughts before they come out of our mouths! Can you imagine how awful this world would be if we actually said what was on our minds?
Love that girl!

Susan
