1st Grade Day 8

1st grade is definitely not all it's cracked up to be.....well at least to Carter!

He'd prefer to stay home. Not only home but he's okay with even staying in bed ALL day, just so he doesn't have to go.
Day seven involved crying and screaming. Poor little dude is just too much of a home body. That, or we decided our summer was too full of fun and school is just not exciting enough!

Here's hoping day 9 brings us better luck!

Good luck Carter!!!
Yesterday Alyssa hit the wall as well, I pulled up to the school and she put her seat belt back on and wasn't about to get out...thanks to the sweet principal she got out and made it through the day.
We feel you pain, it's a hard transition...I'd rather stay in bed too!!:)

That "don't wanna get out of bed to go to school" feeling never really went away for me - even all through college. Except now that I look back I actually miss my school days. I'm sure he will get used to the idea soon enough, but good luck Kendi in the meantime!

We've all all one - - -at least - -it that's any consolation. They DO get through it. I think school looks way less exciting than the other "possibilities," plus the days are darn long! He'll get there, I'm sure.

Love you all,

Mom/Gram

P. S. What a great picture of him. How he loves to be outdoors. Hmmmm - - maybe they'll have a field trip soon!

No complaints about school this morning from Carter, which was good. I think he'll be fine. Knock on wood!

I was worried yesterday morning. As punishment for not going to class, Kendi put him in him in his dark room without any entertainment until he decided to go back to school. We debated whether or not he'd stay in there all day - he's pretty stubborn sometimes. But after a couple of hours, he decided that shool was better than the alternative. Whew!!!

I just read an article about homeschooling through agriculture and farming. What about getting him into one of those programs? (jk). I too hope he has some good tmes at school and that it gets more interesting for him!
