So you say?
I need to quick write these down before I forget the funny things my kids say.
This happened a year ago and while trying to blocking it from my memory and not really wanting to remember it, I decided it might be something we'll look back on when Carter is older and laugh, but just a bit!
While hanging out in the sauna with his cousins, in Park City, Carter declared to everyone, including Grandma Lana and his dad, "Come on guys, let's get out of here, it's too f***ing hot." My mom said Glen's face turned white in shock. To this day we're still not quite sure where our little man heard this word. I guess we can say we're very lucky that he's never said it again!
A couple Sunday's again Carter was asked to fill in on saying the opening prayer in primary. I was sitting behind the podium, at the piano, when he was saying it and was very grateful or that. If I had been sitting in front of him, like normal, he would have seen my body shake from laughter.
His prayer was awesome but the last requests cracked us all up. "Bless us so we can take naps after church today." AMEN brother! Is he my boy or what?
While at the zoo this week Bess asked for some money to throw into the fountain to make a wish. After she made her wish she told me she wanted to tell me what she wished for but she didn't want me to tell Carter. Okay.....shoot. She than proceeds to tell me that she wished for another mom. When she saw the look of disappointment on my face she quickly told me that she wants me to be her mom too but she just wants two moms. Still seeing that didn't make me feel any better she asked for another penny to make a different wish!

Hilarious post Kendi. I'm glad you found the guts to post Carter's F word. A true funny for when he is older. It's amazing the crap the kids pick up from other kids, and most likely at school, which makes me sick to think that parents talk like that around their kids. Or was is Glen that was talking like that around Carter.... Dun, dun, dun! :)
funny funny stuff, Carter is full of surprises. Sorry about Bess wanting another mom, too funny.
How funny that Bess didn't want Carter to hear. You would think she wouldn't want YOU to hear. And shoot, that prayer was so freaking awesome!
Bess has told me a few times that she doesn't like me anymore, usually after I put her in time out. She randomly came up to me a few weeks ago and said in a matter of fact way, "Dad, I like you sometimes and I don't like you sometimes."
I remember that incident with Carter and the grandaddy of bad words. I was absolutely blown away and we had a sit down talk after that. He had NO idea what he did was wrong and couldn't remember where he heard that word. He got the point though and has never said it since - at least that I know of.
Glen
I can count on my kids to say something hysterical most days. It's one of the things I look forward to every day. Maybe Bess wanted a second mom to look after Carter, do the laundry, cook, clean, etc. so she could keep you all to herself. I'll call you next week when we are in Salt Lake.
Carter - I feel the same way after spending too much time in the Sauna, and it sounds very innocent! Poor Glen though - I can picture his face! Bess definatley has a flair for the dramatic - "I want a new mom". That's the stuff of soap operas! She's lucky Aunt Melecia doesn't come over and babysit - then she'll be grateful for her mom!
I remember when Garrett said his first string of profanity in Colorado. I heard about it later so we went door to door to apologize to the kids he cussed out. It was a pretty hard experience for him, and I haven't heard any bad words since.
Hey in the last blog with the picture of Bride, Groom and friends on the steps of the temple - look just above the groom's head. Did Madison secretly fly to the wedding? Is that her, or her body double? We did miss her for a few hours during Graduation day - maybe she was with you?
Melecia
I love to hear about the things kid's say. Art Linkletter was asking children from California where they'd like to go on a trip. One said to "SLC, Utah." "Why would you want to go there?" "To see the California seagulls." What are the California seagulls doing in Utah," Linkletter asked? "They went there to eat the Mormons and get out of the smog!"
Love, Dad, Papa
I have to say I too have shared the cute story of Carter's prayer in Primary. I went home and told my family we all needed to take a nap as we had been blessed to do it. It was too dang cute and hard not to chuckle.
