Kindergarten Graduate
Friday was Carter's last day of school. He really had a great year and we were overall pretty happy with his kindergarten experience. His teacher Mrs. Neeley did a good job with all the children she had in both her morning and afternoon classes.
We're so proud of Carter and the good reports we heard from his teacher all year long. His teacher told us at our last parent teacher's conference that he is reading really well so she sent us home with a couple books that he would read and return to get new ones.
His last report card was perfect (just like the others) and his teacher wrote in the comment section "Carter is a wonderful boy! He's been a joy to have in class! Best of everything in the Future!" We really hope he continues to excel and enjoy learning.
The last week of school we were all ready for it to be over. Mom mostly tired of all the running and end of school year stuff and Carter because he's just ready for a break. I am a bit nervous about the shock of full day first grade is going to have on him next year. We'll have to start practicing on getting up early as he's my sleeping in buddy!
For Mother's Day Carter's class did a special program for the parents. They preformed songs they learned throughout the year and each child shared a talent. Most kids told a joke, shared a picture, sang a song, or made a beautiful art project. I bribed Carter to learn a song on the piano and play it.
We worked hard for weeks on the song Scooby Doo. Carter totally had the song down and my bribe worked. Only problem is when he sat down at the piano to play "Scooby Doo" he started out on the wrong note. Scooby Doo didn't sound very scooby dooish! Oh well, he was very brave and we were proud of him.
Here's a video of his piano performance. It's sideways and I don't know how to switch it...SORRY!
NOW LET THE SUMMER FUN BEGIN!!!!

good job carter, dont give up on piano like i did!believe it or not you are better then i was. it was brutal actually.
I just realized that didnt sound how I meant it, but you get what I mean. My playing = brutal, carters = good.
Congratulations, Carter! I think you've really learned a lot in kindergarten, haven't you! You have grown so much, and are certainly grown up enough and way smart enough to be in first grade. I'm sure you'll be a top student there, just as you've been in kindergarten. We're very proud of your accomplishment - -in school, in sports, and on the piano - - and love you so much.
Have a fun, fun summer.
Love you lots.

Yeah to Carter for having a great kindergarten year!!!
It's hard to believe he'll be in 1st grade already...time definitely flies!!
Congrats to Carter, now I want to hear Ryan play the piano
Didn't phase him at all that he was playing the wrong note. I wish I could have been there for that. He's had a great year and is a great all around kid - we're proud of him.

Yay Carter! I agree - keep taking the piano. It's good that your starting out as such a good student. We're excited to catch some waves with you at the reunion in August!
Love,

That is great that he is already playing the piano - Good job!
So great that he had a good Kindergarten year. It definately sets a precedent for other school years. Way to go!
What fun! Way to go Carter. 1st grade is so much fun. He will love it. It's amazing how fast they grow up isn't it?! Let the summer begin!
We noticed Carter has done a lot of maturing this past year. He has excellent concentration with whatever he is doing for a boy of his age. We really enjoyed having Carter play our piano and do so many fun things while here.
Love, Grandpa
