You honestly never know what mood they are going to be in and how the pictures will
turn out.
I picked to go to Target because I got a coupon in the mail and thought even if they don't turn out I really won't be losing any money going there. So we got her all ready and drove over to Target, which is about a 15 minute drive. I got there and realized I forgot the coupon. Of course they wouldn't grant it without me having it. She said I could drive home and get it because of course they were behind. I looked at my two kids and thought of what a struggle it was to get there in the first place. I decided just to do it KNOWING FULL WELL that they probably wouldn't be good pictures.
The girl that took the pictures was awful. She had NO personality and acted nervous around Bess. Of course she could sense that and didn't want to smile much. I did do one smart thing though, I brought her favorite baby (Which I must add is very ugly). So in her only pose I chose she had her baby with her but was smiling.
I have officially decided after this LAST experience that I am going to start taking my own pictures, I have until February (Carter's birthday) to get some classes in and buy a good camera.
I guess I need to start pumping them up for some family pictures this fall.

Target is stupid, we always have problems with them. That is an awesome picture of Bess crying, probably better than what Target will have.
Love the photo! I can almost hear her cry! I'm sure you can take great ones - -- -or that friend did an awesome job, also. Strange places and people just don't cut it with kids, usually, especially when they are lacking in "kid skills." Oh well - - -we know how darling they are! :)
I can't tell you how many awful picture shoots we have had in the past...I've given up and started doing our own...take them outside and let them play and snap random pictures and play with them on the computer. They turn out great!!!
How funny is that picture? I love it.
I totally hear your pain with picture taking. They ALWAYS decide not to be happy or by the time they are "ready" (since tehy are always behind) the kids are hungry, it's past naptime, and they look nothing like they did entering the store :)
Such fun adventures!
Have a great weekend.
