Christmas Piano Recital

We loved getting into the Christmas mood listening to beautiful music performed by awesome kids.  Carter now has added a new song to his list that he can play over and over and over.......& he leaves us all singing Gilligan's Island.  Not quite "Christmasy" but he's happy with himself.

His teacher is the absolute BEST!  We love him & he's great about pushing Carter in his own way.  Heaven knows that I (mom) am torturing him to keep with it.  He may even tell me not to pick him up from lessons because he doesn't want to go or threaten to run away when he has to practice but when I pick him up from lessons he has a new will to get better and keep practicing.  It's just what we need!

Bess is starting with him in January.  She can hardly wait! Let's hope I have enough hair left on my head to get through two practices.  I keep telling Carter, "One day you'll thank me."

Music plays such an important part of our lives. We have Christmas music piped into our living room, bedroom, and even the bathroom. It's good to see the children taking piano lessons. I don't remember my mother ever forcing me to practice; sometimes I went days without practicing. However, she would come into the living room and lay on the couch and listen to me play and say how wonderful it was. We had lots of visitors at our house and she always asked me to play. I got used to it, and still play a lot and enjoy performing with/for others. I hope Carter and Bess grow up knowing they have a great heritage for music. How exciting it is!

Love, Dad
