My Boy

I love the fall weather in Utah.  I really wish it lasted longer than just a couple weeks.  It's great not to have the heater running or the air on and very relaxing to have the windows opened up letting the cool evening air in.

We've been enjoying this weather with watching Carter play flag football again this year.  Glen was very disappointed when he learned that we were late in signing him up for tackle.  As it turns out I have actually heard it's a good thing that we wait until next year.
This year the teams are set up with 3rd and 4th graders.  Again it's been fun to watch and Carter always makes anywhere from 1 to 3 touchdowns each game.  He's great at snatching the flags off also.....what would you call those guys??  See this mom needs to prepare herself for the football lingo.....I need some TIME!

Glen took both kids fishing Saturday afternoon in the canyon.  They had a blast.  Wish I had pictures to show.  Carter has loved fishing since he was 2 1/2.  I remember being in the hospital the day after having Bess and Glen and Carter brought me a fish they caught as my gift!
He truly dreams about catching fish.  His daddy has taught him well.

Carter came home the about 2 weeks after school started with a paper that looked something like this:

C ool
A rtistick
R aper
T
E
R acer

I truly died laughing and actually took a picture with my cell phone before I had him finish it and correct it.  I love the pure innocence that Carter still possess.  I worry very most about him right now just because he is so innocent about what the real world is full of.
He doesn't much worry about the drama or crude things that get said at school.  He just does his own things and has fun.

We really love this little boy around here.  We're lucky to have his spunk and character to entertain us.

Great blog. Thanks Kendi. I'm actually glad Carter didn't do tackle this year. Too many crazy parents and the kids learn most of the fundamentals doing flag football. Carter is anxious to do tackle but it can wait until next year.

Next time I go to that fishing spot I'll have to bring a camera. I've never caught so many fish. In about 90 minutes, the three of us caught about twenty. Bess caught a big 18" rainbow and was very proud that she got the biggest one. It almost pulled her in and she didn't want to fish after catching the big one.

Very good kid. He will be a great tackle football player when the time comes, I'm sure.

He is so handsome! This is such a great post.
And it is best to wait on tackle. It is not easy on us mommas when your son is at the bottom of a pile and you're hoping he gets out not limping :)
